What is an active adult community?

An active adult community is age restricted to people 55 and older. Homes are usually single-family detached and offer main level living. The exterior of the home typically requires little or no maintenance. There is generally a monthly common fee for yard maintenance, snow removal and refuse pickup.

What sets RiverBend apart from other 55+ communities?

RiverBend Estates is a smaller community with a neighborhood feel. Our homes are built to the highest quality standards. We are willing to work with our client’s one on one to customize their home to fit their needs. At RiverBend you work directly with the developer before, during and after your home is built. Our philosophy is: We are committed to building homes of the highest quality, with great designs as well as delivering them with the highest levels of integrity and honest business practices.

How many homes will be in the active adult community?

RiverBend Estates will consist of 25 newly constructed individual homes with a minimum of 30 feet between them.

Can I customize my home?

Yes! Our Design Specialist will work with you one on one to customize the interior of your home to fit your needs and lifestyle.

Are your homes energy efficient?

Yes. We build our homes with energy efficient components to maximize your comfort and minimize your energy cost.

How big are your homes?

We offer four home styles with main level living that range from 1400 S.F. to 1952 S.F. Each of our homes offers a second floor and/or lower level option. * Some sites can have a finished lower level with a walk out.

What does Maintenance–Free Living mean?

While you are living life to the fullest at RiverBend we will take care of the details for you. Trained professionals will mow the lawn, mulch the flower beds annually, rake leaves, shovel snow and activate/winterize the irrigation systems. 

Can I have pets?

Yes, you can have two pets.

What is RiverBend Estate's policy on children?

Children 18 and older can live with you. Grandchildren are welcome and can visit for 2 week periods.

How long does it take to build a home?

RiverBend Estates can deliver a home in 120 days.

How close is RiverBend Estates to major highways, shopping and entertainment?

RiverBend Estates location is private yet convenient. We are located off a major state road which is a big advantage. The road is maintained by the state and this is a great asset especially in the winter months. The active adult has easy access to major highways, shopping, entertainment and healthcare facilities within a 5 to 10-mile radius.

Where do homeowners shop?

There are many grocery stores located within an 8-15 minute radius. Many of the homeowners shop at Stop & Shop in Seymour, Stop & Shop and Shop Rite in Shelton; others shop at Big Y and Stop & Shop in Monroe.

What is included in RiverBend Estate's common fee?

The common fee includes lawn maintenance, snow removal, rubbish pickup, roof/siding replacement, activation/winterization of irrigation system and septic system maintenance.
